Water Resources

We have developed a water reduction program that covers the entire production chain, centered around a closed-loop management system of "source reduction, process control, and end reuse", dedicated to achieving efficient utilization and sustainable development of water resources. At the source level, we have reduced water consumption in production processes through measures such as optimizing aseptic water nozzles and upgrading CIP (Clean-in-Place) processes.

Simultaneously, we recycle water from mechanical seals for cooling towers, and production concentrated water for water-consuming scenarios such as landscape irrigation and toilet flushing in the plant, thus significantly increasing water recycling rates. Until now, our water reduction program has been implemented in 100% of our national production bases, primarily covering regions such as East China, South China, and Southwest China.

To ensure the steady progress of the water reduction program, we have established rigorous safeguard mechanisms. We set annual KPIs for water resource consumption and conduct comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the water reduction program across all factories on a regular basis.

Water Stress Target:  The Company has set a medium- to long-term target of reducing water intensity (water consumption per unit product) by 10% by 2030 compared with 2024. The target covers all water-use links in the production and operation processes of all production bases, including production water, equipment cleaning water, cooling water, utility system water, wastewater treatment and reuse.

Water Reduction Programs:  Based on the water resource conditions and actual water-use characteristics of each production base location, the Company identifies the main sources and links of water use in production and operations, including production cleaning, purified water used in product manufacturing, equipment cooling, wastewater treatment and reuse, and formulates differentiated water conservation action plans for different water-use links to promote coverage of major water-use sources. In addition, the Company continues to monitor the water resource conditions of each production base location and has proactively avoided areas with high water stress risk during site selection. At present, no production base has been identified as being located in an area of extremely high water stress.

The Company has developed a Five-Year Water Conservation Action Plan outlining key initiatives and implementation priorities. Please refer to the Eastroc Beverage Five-Year Water Conservation Action Plan for details.

Eastroc Beverage Five-Year Water Conservation Action Plan

Ecological Restoration and Regional Water Stewardship:  Eastroc Beverage's Zhongshan Base works with the local government to advance surrounding water resource protection and watershed ecological governance. Focusing on the northern flood drainage channel, Daquan Reservoir, and riparian spaces, the base carries out reservoir-bank ecological restoration, shallow wetland creation, rain gardens, ecological grass swales, permeable pavement, and riverbank greening upgrades to enhance stormwater retention, storage, and purification capacity and improve the riparian ecological environment. It also supports the improvement of sluices, bridges, culverts, and facilities along the flood drainage channel to keep flood discharge routes unobstructed, enhance regional flood control and drainage resilience, and promote harmonious coexistence between the production base and the surrounding ecological environment. These initiatives are expected to increase the surface area and depth of the water body, help improve local water flow conditions in the northern flood drainage channel, raise dissolved oxygen concentrations, and create more suitable habitat conditions for benthic organisms and zooplankton — contributing positively to the stability of the regional aquatic ecosystem and to biodiversity enhancement. In addition, the project has completed a Justification Report for the Establishment of a River Discharge Outlet and obtained approval from the Zhongshan Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau. This marks Eastroc Beverage's first systematic implementation of an outfall setting justification across its production bases, providing a reference practice for future watershed ecological protection and governance initiatives.
